Smilin Jay loves being a Washingtonian… and a radio announcer. Although he was born in the desert of Phoenix, Arizona, he is a long time resident of the great Northwest and Puget Sound region. He sneaked into his first radio station at the age of 14, and has been making radio ever since.

For over twenty years, Jay has been a South Sound favourite. His passion for making radio and connecting with people has not only given him popularity, but is highly sought after at public events.

Jay has been involved with many local festivals and fairs in Western Washington including being emcee for the NW Harmony Sweepstakes Acapella Festival, The Sand and the City Celebrations, Capitol Lakefair and many more

Smilin Jay lives with his “Hunny-Bunny” Mariann on scenic Tumwater Hill in a space age home together with a host of guinea pigs. You can see the guinea’s online at www.oinkernet.com.

Jay is also KGY’s Production Administrator, responsible for making sure all the commercials we play are ready and in the right place to play!
